We just got back from a visit to CA for a cousin's wedding. Simon was absolutely wonderful the entire time. Seriously. I attribute most of this to the fact that I successfully nursed him while riding in the car. He was in his car seat and I was buckled in and I just leaned over and nursed him. It was nothing short of amazing in my eyes. We had two long car rides to and from the airport and they would have been horrible if I wasn't able to nurse him, so yeah! Other than that he was mostly smiley and happy and content to be held by his Nana, Nana Great, and Aunty Cath when not being held by Erik or myself. We also did a bit of EC on the trip too - which was very nice and kind of unexpected. I wasn't sure if he would be into it, but there were many times when he very clearly had to go and would rather not have to go in his diaper. It was sunny and nice so he even had some outdoor naked time! The trip was too short to get in some good visiting time (you know, with a baby around and wedding things to attend to), but it was a long enough time to be away from my bed. I slept pretty good last night and I needed it.

Our American Airlines flight was one of the many canceled. Our only other options for getting there involved layovers and an entire day of travel (like leave Seattle at 7:30AM and get to Chicago at 6:30PM). That sucks without being sick and traveling with an infant! So we decided to stay home instead. I'll really miss seeing my family, but all signs point to no travel at this point.

Gnomes!

I had the pleasure of making these two cute Gnomes this past weekend to test the pattern for Wee Wonderfuls. They were a lot of fun to make and I'm pretty sure everyone will want a pair. You'd be crazy not to, really.
In other news, I'm going on vacation tomorrow - hooray! We're off to MN to visit the family and hopefully relax a bit. Our new apartment is turning into a bit of a headache with ripped up carpet for a hallway and mold growing on the wall so it will be nice to get away for a while. We're also sending Pekoe to boarding school...I sure hope that goes well.

Here is a lovely photo of Mom and I in the amazing Craters of the Moon park in Idaho. Everything there looked like chocolate - brownies, cake, cookie crumbles; they would do well to have a bakery onsite. I was very crabby on this trip and my mom didn't try to kill me once, I love you, Mom.

Also at her request, ( Some of the recent baby sale bounty! )

1. I'm 12 weeks pregnant! I got to hear the heart beat yesterday!
2. I graduated from school with a technical degree in apparel design - woo-hoo!
3. I went on a road trip with my Mom to MN for my brother's wedding and drove back with Erik. It was fun (Boise, Yellowstone, Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, Wall Drug) but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't a bit cranky and nauseous at times.
4. I got a job! In the apparel industry! I work for a small company that designs and manufacturers clothing for sun protection. My job includes technical design, managing prototypes, and coordinating production.
Things are going well!

Ice Cream!

Here's a random photo from Spring Break 2007 woo-hoo! Erik and I went to La Push, WA to spend some quality time at the ocean. We stopped at this place to get some ice cream, inspired by the large wooden ice cream cone. Oh yeah, and my hair is straight in this photo, which I never do myself, so it's a rare treat indeed.
